Franz von Zülow (1883-1963) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist. He was member of the famous “Viennese Sezession” and also worked for the “Wiener Werkstätte” a productive cooperative of artisans in the early 20th century in Vienna. His major work was printed graphic, he, in fact, invented a special printing technique, the papercut printing. The designs were often inspired by folk art. His various work is influenced by the Arts and Crafts principles of the “unity of the arts”, so he did storybooks, calendar sheets, graphics, wall paintings, wall carpets, wall papers, textiles and different painted items of furniture (also porcelain).
