Mary Jeanne Kneen, Founder
Mary Jeanne Kneen is a connoisseur with a lifelong appreciation for objects of beauty, function, and exceptional craftsmanship. Her eye is drawn not only to how something looks, but to how it is made, how it feels, how it is used, and how it enriches everyday life.
Her perspective was shaped in part by the eight years she spent living in Germany, where she immersed herself in museums, auctions, historic houses, shops, and travel. While living in the Nymphenburg area of Munich, she developed a lasting admiration for the storied Bavarian porcelain manufactory that would later become Kneen & Co’s first brand partner and the true beginning of the business as it is known today.
Before Kneen & Co, Mary Jeanne founded Au Coin du Feu, specializing in antique fireplace surrounds. The same respect for history, architecture, craftsmanship, and objects made to last continues to guide Kneen & Co today.
Mary Jeanne leads Kneen & Co by selecting the brands, makers, and objects that define the collection and shape the point of view of the business. For larger projects, she welcomes the opportunity to work directly with clients to bring together a more complete and considered vision for the home.
