Ginori 1735 Fortunae Porcelain Small Trinket Box

The Ginori 1735 Fortunae Porcelain Small Trinket Box is a keepsake in the truest sense, a small lidded vessel made to hold whatever its owner values most. Around its sides, a horseshoe, a pair of dice, and a four-leaf clover are drawn in fine line and touched with gold. On the celadon lid, a red chain closes with a golden padlock.

Each symbol comes from the Game of the Goose, the Renaissance Italian board game that gives the Fortunae collection its imagery of luck and chance.

Made in Sesto Fiorentino, Italy, the box moves easily from room to room: a sugar bowl at tea, a jewelry box on the dresser, a container on the desk. It is a gracious gift for a host, a bridesmaid, or a new beginning.
