The Ginori 1735 Fortunae Venezia Porcelain Teapot brings a note of Italian wit to the tea table. Its rounded silhouette is the manufactory’s historic Venezia shape, here painted in broad mocha stripes edged in fine red line and crowned with a gilded knob.
The body is decorated in full and the lid finished to match, so the teapot reads as an object of display as much as one of service. It belongs to Fortunae, a collection devoted to the oldest of gestures: wishing someone well.
Made in Sesto Fiorentino, Italy, by a house that has worked in porcelain since 1735, it pours for two or three. Pair it with the Fortunae mugs for an afternoon tea, or with the Japanese tea cups and round tray for a complete service worth giving.
