Nymphenburg Memento Mori Skull 2015 Voyage

Every year since 2010, esteemed Bavarian porcelain manufacturer Nymphenburg pays homage to the Medieval Latin phrase, “Memento mori,” or, “Remember that you are mortal,” with a contemporary interpretation of the expression via a unique, limited edition skull. For 2015, Nymphenburg’s master craftsmen created the arresting and cultivated “Voyage.” This exquisitely sculpted, white-glazed porcelain statement piece is adorned with hand-painted ornate 24-carat fine gold embellishments and an antique map and compass. From its skull canvas to its historical travel and adventure motif, “Voyage” evokes the transience and beauty of all earthly things.

Each of the skulls in this special edition series was created as a unique piece and features different sections of the world map. Limited edition of 25 signed and numbered pieces; presented in wooden box.
