The Saint-Louis Chess Game offers an artful interpretation of an ancient game. The Prestige Version of the Chess Game features a board of clear or satin finished crystal cubes which stand on a base of coated aluminum. A reflective effect is seen through each cube because of the shiny base. The mirrored effect creates an illusion of multiplied points of view of the pieces, an ideal playing field for any strategist. Each crystal chess piece reimagines one of Saint-Louis’ classic decanter stoppers. Crystal pieces are in gray flannel and clear crystal with mirror finish and black baize.
The chess classic game board is crafted from clear or dyed dark beech wood and covered with a matte varnish. The same crystal pieces used in the prestige game also adorn this game.
Prestige Set: numbered edition of 28 pieces, with the number indicated underneath the flannel-grey King.
