Saint-Louis Extravagance Stemware

The Saint-Louis Extravagance Stemware collection is a formal gold-rim crystal service for the table, comprising a water glass in two sizes, a champagne coupe, and a wine carafe, each finished with a fine 24-karat gold rim applied by hand. It is Saint-Louis’s most formally dressed stemware offering, designed for ceremonial occasions and grand table settings where the combination of clear crystal and warm gold speaks to the fullest expression of the art of the table.

Every piece in the Extravagance collection is mouth-blown and hand-cut at the Cristallerie Saint-Louis in Lorraine, France. The 24-karat gold rim is applied by hand, gilded by artisans using gilding techniques practiced at Saint-Louis for generations. Saint-Louis is one of very few crystal houses in the world with the complete in-house capability to produce, cut, and gild a formal stemware service.

The Extravagance collection belongs to Saint-Louis’s lineage of gold-decorated formal services, a tradition reaching back through Thistle Gold and Apollo Gold Rim to the maison’s earliest court commissions. A fine 24-karat gold rim traces the lip of each piece — the most formal and celebratory register in the Saint-Louis vocabulary, reserved for occasions where ceremony is the point. The collection’s name announces its intention plainly: this is crystal at its most dressed, for tables that demand it. Established in 1586, Saint-Louis stands as Europe’s oldest crystal manufacturer, holding the title of Royal Cristallerie since 1781.
