The Saint-Louis Trianon Amethyst Shot Glass brings the Trianon collection’s distinguished cut vocabulary to a small, precise shot glass for spirits service, presented in deep amethyst crystal. As part of the oldest matched glass service in continuous production — introduced in 1834 and chosen for the Élysée Palace in the 1960s — every Trianon piece carries the full weight of that history.
Every Trianon piece is mouth-blown and hand-cut at the Cristallerie Saint-Louis in Lorraine, using techniques that have been practiced at the house since the collection’s introduction in 1834. The colored shot glasses achieve their tones through Saint-Louis’s masse coloring technique.
In 1834, the Trianon collection inaugurated the era of the matched glass service — the concept of offering a coordinated set of glasses in different forms and sizes for different beverages at the same table. It was the first collection to propose this idea, now so fundamental to entertaining that it is taken entirely for granted. In the 1960s, Trianon was selected to grace the tables of the Élysée Palace — the official residence of the French President — a distinction that confirmed its place among the great French formal services. Appreciated for its wide variety of cuts and sizes, it remains the ideal companion for all functions. The collection takes its name from the Trianon palaces within the grounds of Versailles. Established in 1586, Saint-Louis stands as Europe’s oldest crystal manufacturer, holding the title of Royal Cristallerie since 1781.
