The Bernardaud Augusta Rice Bowl is a small footed bowl for rice, dipping sauces, nuts or a scoop of sorbet. A wide band of geometric mosaic in emerald, soft green and gold wraps the exterior above a white foot.

Its pattern is drawn from the simplified figures of Art Deco, a period that looked to Cubism and to the art of ancient Greece and Rome. On a piece this size, the mosaic reads almost as jewelry.

Made in Limoges by Bernardaud, a family-owned house since 1863. The name Augusta recalls Augustoritum, as Limoges was known under the Roman Empire.
