The Bernardaud Augusta Sugar Bowl sits at the center of the tea service, set beside the creamer and hot beverage server. It is wrapped in the collection’s mosaic of emerald, soft green and gold, with a mosaic border on the lid and a gold-tipped finial.

Augusta reduces ornament to geometric figures, an approach Art Deco designers drew from Cubism and the art of ancient Greece and Rome. Crowned with gold, the sugar bowl carries that geometry with the formality of a classic tea service.

Bernardaud has made porcelain in Limoges since 1863 and remains family-owned.

On December 23 we got a note that the bowls were ready to ship and Kneen & Co shipped them out next day delivery without charging and without even seeking acknowledgement for helping to make our Christmas Eve with family so special.
