The Bernardaud Augusta Tea Cup and Saucer is made for afternoon tea, set with the Augusta hot beverage server, creamer and sugar bowl. The wide cup carries a band of emerald, soft green and gold mosaic above a white base, on a saucer ringed in a fine gold grid and green tiles.

The pairing shows both sides of the Augusta mosaic: a bold frieze on the cup and a fine grid on the saucer. It is a study in the Art Deco balance of rhythm and restraint.

Bernardaud has made porcelain in Limoges since 1863, with the hand present at every stage of each piece.
