The MEISSEN New Cutout Ming Dragon Bread Plate Purple presents bread, small accompaniments, or delicate bites with distinction. The petal-shaped rim is a signature of the New Cutout dinner service by Johann Joachim Kaendler, a true classic of European tableware. A hand-painted purple dragon fills the center among stylized flames, framed by blossom motifs and a fine gold rim. Placed at the upper left of each setting, it completes a formal table and adds color to an informal one.

The dragon motif has characterized Chinese porcelain since the Ming dynasty, a symbol of supernatural wisdom and transformation that gives each piece deeper meaning. MEISSEN renders it in purple through a combination of traditional hand-painting and modern technology, making the bread plate a small expression of the manufactory’s craft.
