The MEISSEN New Cutout Ming Dragon Dinnerware Purple brings one of porcelain’s most storied motifs to the formal table, from holiday dinners to Lunar New Year celebrations. A purple Ming Dragon, the Chinese emblem of strength, wisdom, and transformation, stands out against bright white porcelain on MEISSEN’s celebrated New Cutout shape.

Johann Joachim Kaendler created the New Cutout around 1745, giving it a softly scalloped rim, petal-like contours, and handles shaped like acanthus leaves. Nearly three centuries later, it remains one of MEISSEN’s most iconic forms. Each Ming Dragon piece pairs hand-painting with modern technique at MEISSEN, maker of Europe’s first porcelain and a leader in fine porcelain since 1710.
