The MEISSEN New Cutout Ming Dragon Dessert Plate Purple, 8.7 in offers a generous canvas for salad, dessert, or a composed first course. The scalloped New Cutout rim, created by Johann Joachim Kaendler for MEISSEN, frames a hand-painted purple dragon set among flame motifs, with four blossom medallions and a fine gold rim around the border. The contrast of saturated purple and bright white porcelain gives the plate a striking presence, whether it anchors a course or joins a layered setting.

The Ming dynasty made the dragon the most important motif in Chinese porcelain, an image of strength, wisdom, and change.
