The Saint-Louis Jeu Large Knight in Clear Crystal is the larger of the two individual knight figures, rendered in clear leaded crystal with the vivid, naturalistic form that sets the knight apart from every other Jeu piece. At 6.3 inches tall it makes a significant decorative presence on a desk, shelf, or side table, and its relief-detailed surface catches light from every angle. It is handcrafted from the mould technique at the Cristallerie Saint-Louis in Lorraine.

The knight distinguishes itself from every other piece in the Jeu collection. Where the king, queen, bishop, rook, and pawn each take their form from a Saint-Louis decanter stopper — smooth, clean, and contemporary in silhouette — the knight’s aspect is more vivid and naturalistic, its numerous reliefs evoking the ardor associated with the piece that leads the others in battle, the one whose movement is linear until it shifts aside. The knight figures are available individually as decorative objects and as standalone collector’s pieces, handcrafted from the mould technique at the Cristallerie Saint-Louis. Established in 1586, Saint-Louis stands as Europe’s oldest crystal manufacturer, holding the title of Royal Cristallerie since 1781.
